Here's all the best attractions in Muscat that you should know about. 1. Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque. Ah, the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, a masterpiece of modern Islamic architecture. This isn't just a place of worship; it's an emblem of Oman's rich cultural tapestry.. One of the most popular activities to do is hiking in Muscat in the tourist hub of Muttrah, which ends with a panoramic view of the Muttrah corniche and the Arabian Sea. It is a short hike (just 10km) and it can be completely done self-guided. The best time to do the hike is either during the sunrise or the sunset.
